Why the News Media is mostly Liberal

You may have noticed a Liberal Bias in our news media. I think I can explain the reason for this.  I think that only those that grow up in an urban environment would aspire to be a reporter especially those that grew up 20 of more years ago like most of the media people we have now did. Twenty years ago in small towns were everyone knew every one in town rumor would have provided all the news you needed about your neighbors and what was going on in your community.  Only in urban areas were it wasn't practical to know everyone in your community did the news media become more valuable to know what was going on in your community an thus aspire young people in the urban areas to fill that valuable position.   The people in rural areas wouldn't see the position to be as valuable and thus not aspire for that profession.
Combine this with the Idea established in my first post "Why we are Conservative or Liberal" this explains why most reporters are liberal.

Why we are Conservative or Liberal

I think I have figured out the dominant factor in what makes us Conservatives or Liberals in America. I will present this as a theory.  I don't have the resources to do a study so here it is.

My theory is that a person will be more liberal if they go through their emotional development stage in higher density population areas with the higher density outlet for resources to support the population.
Or in other words the more stores you have around you when you grow up the more likely you will be a Liberal.

The second most dominant factor is Wealth.

The third most dominant factor is Leadership.  Meaning parents, teachers, preachers, or family.

This became a big question for me after I started following politics after the 2000 election.  I began to come up with this theory after the 2004 election when I saw a map of the Blue and Red areas broken down by county.  The Blue areas were in the Higher Density parts of the country.  I wondered why this was so and if it could be a clue to the answer to my question.

I then tried to define what the words "Conservative" and "Liberal" meant to the best of my ability when connected together.  I think I got the best relevant definition when using them as adverbs. "He conservatively spread butter on toast" or "He liberally spread butter on toast".  When using liberal he put a lot on there because its "EASY COME, EASY GO".  When using conservative its "SAVE SOME FOR LATER".  I think these two phrases best sum up the difference in attitude. I know there is a lot more to this which we get to explore more later.

I think this theory can answer a lot of questions.  It also has a lot of implications about our future.

Some of the questions I have been able to answer for myself with this are:

Why is the News Media mostly Liberal?
Why are college professors mostly Liberal?
Why Canada and western Europe are mostly Liberal?
     Why  most atheists are Liberal?
     Why most Conservatives are religious?

I guess the biggest implication of this theory is that our country will become more liberal in the near future.  I think this will give us very poor survival skills.
I will try to explain my answers to the above questions in future posts.
